AQUACULTURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (AIP)
First AIP in Japan to obtain ASC certification
Marukin Co., Ltd. is a pioneer of coho salmon aquaculture who has been operating in Onagawa town for over 30 years. After the devastation of the 2011 Northwest Japan earthquake and tsunami, Marukin decided to launch Japan’s first AIP as part of the region’s effort to rebuild its seafood industry and strive for a more sustainable and responsible farming operation.
