KYOWA-MEIHO WCPFC SKIPJACK & YELLOWFIN TUNA MSC CERTIFICATION

Kyowa Suisan Co., Ltd. and Meiho Gyogyo Co., Ltd. became the first Japanese-flagged purse seine fishery to achieve MSC certification for skipjack and yellowfin tuna in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean. The certification covers four vessels: the 78th Koyo Maru and 88th Koyo Maru, operated by Kyowa Suisan and its subsidiary Tokai Gyogyo Co., Ltd., and the 36th Shoki Maru and 88th Meihou Maru, operated by Meihou Fisheries.
