TAFCO WCPFC SKIPJACK & YELLOWFIN TUNA MSC CERTIFICATION

Taiyo A&F Co., Ltd. (TAFCO), with consulting support from UMITO Partners, has achieved MSC certification for its purse seine fishing operations targeting skipjack and yellowfin tuna in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean. The certification covers three vessels, Taiyo Waab, Taiyo Chuuk, and Taiyo Pohnpei, owned by Taiyo Micronesia Corporation, a subsidiary of TAFCO. UMITO Partners assisted with legal and ecological data collection, documentation, and coordination with MSC auditors.
